LUKULLUSLXXX– A Springboard to the Future

How individual packaging became the tangible expression of a brand's new narrative

The Challenge

In 2026, the iconic Warsaw patisserie Lukullus celebrates 80 years in business. Their creative team developed a bold campaign — "LXXX" — aimed at redesigning the brand's narrative: from looking back at tradition, to dynamically facing the future. AS-INTER-BOX was entrusted with creating a limited anniversary packaging series that would become the physical embodiment of this new philosophy.

"Tradition is not something to bow down to. We believe Tradition should be a springboard to the future. We believe that only by reinventing it will it remain alive."

— Albert and Jacek, owners of Lukullus

The Solution

We produced a series of exclusive individual packaging items that:

  • Introduced anniversary graphic design in accordance with the artistic vision of Wika Wojciechowska.
  • Combined the new one-piece (quick-fold) packaging design with the brand's traditionally vivid yellow colour code, maintaining visual consistency across different formats.
  • Featured once again interior printing compliant with European standards for food-contact materials.
  • Demonstrated short-run production flexibility: a solution for limited editions and seasonal campaigns, without compromising print quality or repeatability.
Open packaging construction: printed text inside, LXXX mark in magenta on the outside.
The "inside" layer: interior print featuring an anniversary message from the owners. The packaging tells its story even after opening.
LXXX one-piece packaging series: yellow boxes with magenta spray/graffiti lettering.
LXXX anniversary series: multiple one-piece and two-piece formats united under a single visual identity.
Packaging detail: manufacturer marking and batch number on yellow board.
Execution detail: manufacturer marking and batch identification. Serial production demands repeatability, not just a good idea.

Results

The LXXX packaging not only fulfilled its marketing role during the anniversary, but became an iconic element of the brand's identity, demonstrating how packaging can serve as a vehicle for values and a strategic rebranding tool.
